ROME CITY – The DNR has placed a No Motorized Watercraft restriction on the West Lakes Chain in Noble County until further notice.

The West Lakes Chain consists of Waldron, Steinbarger, Tamarack and Jones lakes.

With the current high-water level, numerous homes have water up on the foundations and approaching the front door thresholds. Motorboat operation, regardless of speed, may cause continued property damage.

Previously, motorboats were restricted to idle speed.
