(PLEASANT LAKE) – Authorities are continuing to investigate a weekend accident where the driver was ejected.

The Indiana State Police were called at 5 PM Sunday to investigate an crash on County Road 500 west, north of County Road 500 South. Troopers arrived and found a pick up truck that had rolled over on the east side of the roadway. There was a man laying in the grass next to the vehicle.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver, 24 year old Mitchell Musser of Hudson, was driving a pick up north on 500 West. For an unknown reason, he drove off the roadway twice before losing control. He left the road, going airborne and then rolled over, striking an embankment.

Troopers determined that Musser was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. There were no passengers in the vehicle. They say excessive speed seems to be a primary factor in the incident.

Musser was flown by Parkview Samaritan to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. His condition is unknown.
