(FAWN RIVER TOWNSHIP) – One person is dead and two people are injured following a two vehicle crash in Fawn River Township.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says his department was called to U.S. 12 near Sweet Lake Road for a two vehicle collision Wednesday morning. Investigator say 19 year old Alondra Aguilar of LaGrange was driving east at 4:30 AM, when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a westbound automobile, driven by 54 year old Daniel Waring of Sherwood. Waring was pronounced dead at the scene.

Waring's passenger, 30 year old Mose Bontrager of Bronson, was taken to Sturgis Hospital to be treated for severe injuries. Aguilar was also taken to Sturgis Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The Sturgis Police Department, Tri-Township Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance all assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
