By: Sheila McCrea/Mike Stiles - Wednesday, December 16, 2020

(ANGOLA) – Eight Angola small businesses have been awarded $73,000 in forgivable loans.

The money is courtesy of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the Angola Investment Fund.

Angola Mayor Richard Hickman says the city's small businesses have had a challenging year due to COVID-19, and this is a wonderful opportunity to join forces with OCRA and bring needed financial support to these hard working organizations. Hickman says the funds will be a great tool to help the Angola small business community survive and be successful.

The award amounts range from $5,000 to $10,000 and was determined by the adverse impact COVID-19 has had on their business. The recipients of the forgivable loans are: Brown N Bare Tanning; Larry's Lock & Safe, McCool's Tavern; Sutton's Deli; Timbers Steak and Seafood; Fitt4Life, ROCO Hair Shop and Pro Cup Racing.

Applications are still being taken for retail service small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Please go to the Angola city website to learn more about the funding an how to apply. The website is angola in dot org.
