Unemployment Drops In November Around NE Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Counties in Northeast Indiana saw their unemployment rates drop from October to November.

According to information released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, LaGrange County dropped from 3.6 percent unemployment to 3.5 percent. That's a decrease of one-tenth of a percent.

The largest drops were in Elkhart and DeKalb Counties, who each saw a decrease of three-tenths of a percent. Elkhart saw a drop from 4.7 to 4.4 percent, while DeKalb went from 4.3 to an even 4 percent from October to November.

Noble County had a drop in their jobless rate from 5 percent to 4.8, which is a decrease of two-tenths of a percent. Steuben County also dropped two-tenths of a percent from October to November, going from 4.1 to 3.9 percent.

Statewide, the jobless rate in Indiana was 4.9 percent.
