(UNDATED) – Authorities are investigating the theft of mail from locations in St. Joseph County.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office and the Michigan State Police were called to the area of Mintdale Road and Burg Road in Florence Township after mail was located in the road. Officers found mail that appeared to be taken from mailboxes from Florence, Sherman and White Pigeon Townships.

Many of the envelopes had been opened and the contents removed.

The recovered mail was turned over to the White Pigeon Post Office.

Anyone who has information on this matter is requested to contact the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office or the Michigan State Police. If you see any suspicious activity, please call 911.
