(THREE RIVERS) – There will be a new varsity girls basketball coach for Three Rivers in the 2021-22 season. After 12 years as the head coach, Jason Bingaman has announced that he is stepping down. Bingaman says he has accepted the position as the Three Rivers Middle School Principal, and was given full support to continue coaching. Bingaman says after several weeks of thinking over the situation, he feels it is in his best interest to be able to give all his extra effort and focus to the students and staff at the Middle School. Bingaman says neither position deserves someone who may feel conflicted in being able to provide the necessary time and energy to make either successful, and he would not be happy to miss anything for either position. In his 12 years as a head coach, Bingaman's teams have won 20 or more games four different times, highlighted by the team that was the 2010-11 Class B State Runner Up. Bingaman has a career record of 197-73 (72.9%), with three conference titles, five district championships, a Regional championship and another appearance in the Regional finals, but that game was not played due to COVID-19.
