(ELKHART COUNTY) – A Goshen man is dead from the injuries he received in a two vehicle collision.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 27 year old Dallas Yoder of Goshen was driving his motorcycle north on County Road 17 at 1:16 PM Tuesday, and approaching the four way intersection at County Road 38.

A second vehicle, driven by 65 year old Robert Ekema of Three Oaks, Michigan, was heading south and trying to turn east onto County Road 38. Deputies say Yoder was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into the rear of Ekema's vehicle.

Yoder was flown to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital with serious bodily injuries and third degree burns. He later died from his injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
