(LAGRANGE COUNTY) – Two horses have died in two different accidents.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office says at 5:35 AM Tuesday, deputies were called to U.S. 20 near County Road 1200 West to investigate a multi-vehicle accident. A Greenwood, Indiana man was traveling west on U.S. 20 and hit a horse that was in the road. There was heavy damage to the hood and top of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was removed from the automobile by first responders and flown to a Fort Wayne hospital to be treated for head and face injuries.
The second vehicle was also on U.S. 20. A Ligonier woman was driving west and struck another horse that was in the road. There was significant damage to the driver's side of her vehicle.
