(FABIUS TOWNSHIP) – Two people have been arrested after a police chase in western St. Joseph County over the weekend.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says at 10:41 PM Saturday, deputies tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Null Road near Pulver Road in Fabius Township. The driver led deputies and Three Rivers Police Department officers on a chase.

The suspect drove through a yard on Pleasant View Road and crashed into a Three Rivers Police vehicle before taking off again. The suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle as it turned off Day Road onto Dutch Settlement Road.

The driver, a 37 year old Three Rivers man, and his passenger, a 26 year old Vicksburg woman, were taken into custody and lodged in the St. Joseph County Jail. Both are charged with narcotics violations. The man is also facing charges related to the vehicle pursuit and for having outstanding warrants.
