(UNDATED) – Area providers are continuing power restoration efforts following the storms that moved through the area Wednesday and Thursday.

Consumers Energy says they have 4490 electric customers in St. Joseph County still without service. In addition, there are 8073 Branch County customers that are without power.

The company's website is saying those customers will have their power restored anytime between today and Monday, August 16. The damage is extensive in some areas from the storms, which brought down trees and power poles. Additional crews have been brought in to help with
restoration efforts.

Indiana Michigan Power is reporting that 3473 of their customers are without power. Most of them are in western St. Joseph County. Company officials are saying they should have everyone back on line by Sunday.

If you are still without power, please contact your provider to let them know, so they can make sure everyone is back on line.
