(UNDATED) – A storm front moved through Southern Michigan late Tuesday afternoon, bringing heavy winds and rains, along with thunder and lightning.

The strong winds knocked down more trees, which did some damage to vehicles and buildings. The winds also brought down some power lines, causing electric service to be interrupted in both St. Joseph and Branch Counties.

Sturgis lost electricity in some portions of the City because of a loss of power feed from a supplier. Power was restored just before 8 PM.

There have been postings on social media of a possible tornado that moved through areas in the northern part of St. Joseph County with this storm front. While there was some significant damage, the National Weather Service has not confirmed that it was a tornado.
