COLDWATER – The case of one of the suspects who authorities say was part of a plot to kidnap and rape a child has been bound over to Circuit Court.

According to Branch County District Court officials, 32 year old Matthew Toole waived his preliminary hearing and also entered not guilty pleas to three counts each of conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit first degree murder.

Toole, along with 32 year old Talia Furman of Springfield, 37 year old David Bailey of Coldwater and 19 year old Jayme LaPointe of Athens are all being held on $5 million bond. Furman, Bailey and LaPointe are also facing the same charges as Toole.

In September, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced the four suspects has been arrested by Michigan State Polie for their roles in a plot to kidnap, torture and sexually assault a young child. The investigation started in August.

LaPointe, Bailey and Furman are scheduled to have preliminary hearings on November 14. Toole will have a pre-trial conference in Branch County Circuit Court on November 19.
