LAGRANGE – Fire damaged a Lagrange business Tuesday evening.
LaGrange firefighters were called to Hite Auto Body on U-S 20 shortly after 6 p-m.
They found the east building on fire. Additional equipment and manpower from Howe, Mongo, Johnson Township, Topeka and Shipshewana was called in to assist. They had the fire under control in about two hours.
Traffic on U-S 20 was shut down for about five hours.
Firefighters were dispatched back to the scene at 6:42 this morning for a rekindle of the fire.
The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office says motorists should the area of US 20 on the west side of Lagrange once again.
