(AUBURN) - A Waterloo man had to be rescued from his burning S.U.V. on Easter Sunday morning. According to press release from the DeKalb County Sheriffs Department, 47-year-old Scott Greenwood was in serious but stable condition at Parkview Regional Medical Center after he lost control of his vehicle at about 3:15am in the 5900 block of County Road 427. It then ran into a ditch with a large embankment before it hit several trees and burst into flames with Greenwood trapped inside. Greenwood suffered a broken leg and a head injury in the accident. The Sheriffs Department says alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident. They were assisted by police from Auburn and Garrett along with firefighters from Auburn and Jackson Township.
