(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Parks Superintendent Eric Ditmars told County Commissioners on Monday that camping season at the County Park has been delayed until May 17th. Ditmars said the park has some road cut issues that will have to be addressed in the future. He added the boat launch is open but for the time being, those who want to go down to the public beach will have to do so by the entrance to the 4-H fairgrounds. Ditmars also said that the level of Crooked Lake was high right now. Lots were recently assigned to the nearly 140 people who will be camping in the park this year. In other business, the Commissioners formally introduced Christina Ebel as the new Veteran's Service Officer for Steuben County. Ebel has been a member of the Air National Guard since 2008. She has served in Turkey, Afghanistan and Germany. Ebel's family is in the military including a brother who is 80 percent disabled.
