(ANGOLA) - A LaGrange man was arrested Monday night by Angola Police for allegedly driving a car after his license had been suspended for life. 36-year-old Leroy Titus III was pulled over on North Wayne near Harcourt just before 8:00pm after an officer noticed he had plates which expired last December. According to Steuben County court documents, Titus told the officer that the vehicle was not his and he did not have a license.
Titus was later booked on a Class C felony for Operating a Vehicle After A Lifetime Suspension as well as on a felony fugitive warrant out of DeKalb County. Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf during an initial hearing on Tuesday.
Bond was set at $25,000 with ten percent allowed. Lisa Dirig will serve as his court appointed attorney. Titus' case will go through Steuben Circuit Court where a pre-trial conference was scheduled for June 9th.
