(STURGIS) – Schools around Michigan have finally been told how to handle the snow days from this past winter.
The Michigan Department of Education released the final guidelines regarding the making up of snow days.
Superintendent Dr. Tom Langdon says the district has determined that the last day of classes for Sturgis Public Schools with students will be June 13. This will be a half day for students.
Langdon says that starting May 12, the school day will begin five minutes earlier and end five minutes later every day until the end of the school year. This will not affect bus transportation schedules and Langdon says the last day for seniors will remain unchanged.
Langdon would like to thank all of the Sturgis students and their parents along with the faculty and staff for their patience as the District waited for these guidelines to be announced.
