(UNDATED) - Various police agencies in Noble County have sent a letter to parents which reminds them of the dangers associated with underage consumption of alcohol during prom and graduation season. The letter has been posted on the Noble County Sheriffs Department Facebook page as police work with East Noble Schools in an effort to help reduce the use of alcohol and drugs among minors. Parents are being asked to not serve or allow alcohol at any party they are hosting. In addition, they are being asked to verify that there will be parental supervision at any party their child attends and that it will be alcohol free. Parents are also being asked to make it clear to their children that they do not approve of them drinking alcohol. The letter also points out that the legal drinking age is 21. A minor who consumes alcohol is violating the law and an adult who provides alcohol to minors is subject to arrest.
