(UNDATED) - The American Lung Association says in its State of the Air report for 2014 that the air quality in Allen County earned a D for the number of high ozone days last year. Thirteen other Indiana counties including St. Joseph County was given an F in that category. Allen County also got a D for short term particle levels. The Association credits the Clean Air Act as they say the country continues to make progress providing healthier air. The report shows that while the nation’s air quality worsened in between 2010 and 2012, it is still much cleaner than just a decade ago. In addition, the Lung Association says more than 47 percent of the nation live where pollution levels are too often dangerous to breathe which is an increase from last year.
