(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Community Foundation says the recent passing of Richard King has led to a couple of major gifts. King died in January while his wife Peg passed away in 2012. The Foundation says the Kings donated a piece of real estate on Wohlert Street to them back in 2003. The proceeds of the sale established a charitable gift annuity. When Richard King passed away, the remaining assets were transferred to a pair of causes that were close to the couples hearts. The Steuben County Humane Society got over $28,000 for their endowment fund at the Foundation while the remaining $66,000 established an endowed scholarship fund that will provide assistance for single parents pursuing a secondary education.
