(CENTREVILLE) – Friday night 221 students will be recognized during the 46th annual Glen Oaks Community College commencement ceremony.

Glen Oaks President Dr. David Devier will preside over the ceremony.

One of the special presentations will be the President's Award, given this year to Jacob Wilkins. The award recognizes a student with high achievement in academics and is nominated by the faculty. Wilkins will be receiving his Associate of Science degree and is graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Also on Friday night, President Devier will announce the winner of the 2013-2014 E.J. Shaheen Award. This is presented to a member of the faculty who is nominated for innovation and quality instruction. Nominations come from students, alumni, fellow faculty, staff and members of the community.

The ceremony will feature music by the GOCC Chorale, which is comprised of students, faculty and staff.

Tickets are required for guests to attend the graduation. Each student participating in the ceremony is eligible to receive up to eight general admission seating guest tickets. If you would like to request extra tickets, you can contact Clarice Beck at 269-294-4303.

The ceremony starts at 7 PM in the Glen Oaks gymnasium.
