(UNDATED) - Justin Kuhnle earned the right to face Republican incumbent Marlin Stutzman in the fall on Tuesday as he won a tight Democratic Primary for the Third District Congressional seat. Kuhnle is a native of Decatur who now lives in Kendallville. He edged Tommy Schrader and Jim Redmond. Kuhnle had 35 percent with 2,880 votes. Schrader had 2,798 while Redmond had 2,583. Redmond carried Steuben County with 114 votes followed by Schrader with 104 and Kuhnle with 83. Stutzman had an easy victory in the Republican primary for Congress as he collected 82 percent of the vote and defeated challengers Mark Baringer and James Mahoney III.
