(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Plan Commission decided on Wednesday night that a special exception use for a recreational marina in a general business zoned district would not affect the county's master plan. Terry Archbold from Dry Dock Marine made the request for the property at 120 Lane 447 at Lake James which is just north of the Four Corners. A special exception has already been granted for the southern part of the property. Archbold said they wanted a special exception on the northern part because they were already cited for improperly storing boats and so they can display boats along 300 West.
Steve Mayer from the Lakes Advisory Board said they recommended approval of the special exception on the conditions that no permanent boat slips be placed on the property and there would be no long term boat storage. The Plan Commission's recommendation will be taken up by the Steuben County Board of Zoning Appeals on Monday night.
