(UNDATED) - One week after people were bundled up and shivering in temperatures that did not get out of the 40's, record heat was reported on Thursday in northern Indiana. Fort Wayne officially made it up to 89 degrees which broke their old record for May 8th of 88 degrees that was set back in 1979. South Bend topped out at 91 degrees which topped their record high of 90 degrees set in 1896. While it won't be that hot on Friday, you can probably put that winter coat away. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70's through Tuesday.
