(UNDATED) - It's been a real challenge for drivers in LaGrange on Wednesday morning. Downed power lines caused power in downtown LaGrange to go out. That resulted in the traffic signals going dark. Police were asking drivers to treat the intersections of State Road 9 and U.S. 20 as well as State Road 9 at Michigan Street as four-way stops. In addition, U.S. 20 was shut down at Sherman Street due to downed power lines following an accident.
The storms that went through northeast Indiana during the overnight hours resulted in hail being reported at several locations. One inch hail was reported east of Stroh. Hail was also reported in the Ashley, Hudson, Pleasant Lake and Hamilton areas. One inch hail damaged a car, house siding and window screens north of Ashley. Ham raid operators reported hail covered ground near Pleasant Lake and Hudson.
Steuben County Communications reports a tree and some power lines were knocked down on Bellfountaine Road in Hamilton. There were also reports of scattered power outages.
Cindy Courtright had a yard full of hail Wednesday morning in Steuben County.
