(COLDWATER TOWNSHIP) - Michigan State Police are looking into a report that a man impersonated a State Police trooper when he pulled over a woman last Saturday night near Coldwater. They say the incident happened at about 11:45pm on U.S. 12 near M-86 in Coldwater Township when the female driver was pulled over by what was described as a large S.U.V. like vehicle with flashing red and blue lights.
The suspect was said to be wearing what appeared to be a fake police uniform. He was described as a white male between the ages of 35 and 45. He was reported to be clean shaven with an unknown hair color. The uniform was described as consisting of a dark blue button down shirt with an American flag patch on the right sleeve, a black tie and a dark blue traditional Garrison style police hat with bright yellow lettering. There was no badge on the shirt, no departmental shoulder patch and no police duty belt that would consists of such items as a gun, handcuffs and pepper spray.
