(UNDATED) - Figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Thursday show most northeast Indiana communities have seen their populations go up between July of 2010 and July of last year. Angola's population has gone up by 49 residents to 8,649. The Census Bureau reported increases in the populations of Ashley, Clear Lake, Fremont, Hamilton and Orland while the population of Hudson stayed the same.
Fremont has 2,149 residents while 1,542 people live in Hamilton. Orland's population is 436, Ashley is at 988, Clear Lake was at 343 and Hudson stayed the same at 518.
Angola is one of four communities in northeast Indiana that has seen a large amount of growth. Auburn's population went up by 34 persons to 12,788 while the population of LaGrange went up by 50 to 2,677 and 41 more persons make Kendallville their home bringing their population up to 9,894.
