(ANGOLA) - You will start seeing some activity next week on Steuben County's portion of the Bike Trail project. Steuben County Engineer Jennifer Sharkey said after a pre-construction meeting was held on Tuesday that construction signs will be put out next week. There maybe brief lane restrictions while the work is in progress. Steuben County's part of the Bike Trail will be between 200 North and Hoosier Hill. Sharkey says they hope to have the trail ready for the public in November. The project will be finalized next spring with the completion of the project scheduled for next June.
Steuben County Commissioners last month approved a bid of just over $1.6 million from E and B Paving which was below the engineers estimate of the cost.
INDOT is funding all but 20 percent of the work. The local match from the county is $327,000.
