(FLINT) - The Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District Board of Trustees approved the sale of foreclsoed property on Lake James Thursday night but their old office building is still on the market. The foreclosed Paul Taylor property at 640 Lane 200 sold for $26,000. The foreclosure was uncontested and there were other creditors besides the Waste District. Superintendent Tim Frederick said the other creditors got the money when the property was foreclosed while the district got the property. He said the property was appraised in 2010 at $40,000. The district agreed to remove a trailer on the property which is being sold as is.
Meanwhile, a potential buyer came forward recently and made an offer on the district's former office building on 200 West but the sale fell through. The building has been empty ever since the district moved its operations to Flint.
