(AUBURN) - Several DeKalb County Police Officers were honored this week for saving the life of a Waterloo man who was involved in a firey traffic accident on Easter Sunday morning in the 5900 block of County Road 427. Receiving plaques from the city of Auburn were Auburn Police Officers Bob Marzolf, Derek Taylor, Joe McGrade and Tim Moord. Others recognized for saving the life of 47-year-old Scott Greenwood after he was trapped in his burning S.U.V. on the City of Auburn's Facebook page were DeKalb Sheriff Sargent Josh Hurley, Deputies Courtney Full Rick Short and Garrett Police officer Jeff Arnett.
According to the City's Facebook page, the officers were unable to free the pinned driver. They then rolled the vehicle back over from its top to its wheels to keep flames away from the driver until fire personnel from Auburn and Jackson Township could arrive.
