STURGIS - The woman who discovered the brutal slaying of her parents more than eight years ago is now herself the subject of a death investigation.
Sturgis Police confirm Amanda Anderson died Wednesday at a residence in the city. She was 29. Police aren’t commenting other than to say that they are awaiting results of an autopsy and toxicology tests.
Amanda Anderson returned home near Mongo early one Friday morning in October of 2005 to discover the body of Darlene Anderson inside their home. Police arrived and later found the body of her father, Terry Anderson, inside an outbuilding on the property after obtaining a search warrant.
Both the Andersons died from blunt force trauma. Although several items of value were missing from the residence, prosecutors have never charged anyone with their murders.
