(UNDATED) - The National Weather Service says there were seven small tornadoes that developed from Tuesday morning's fast moving storm that killed at least two people and knocked out power for thousands. An EF-1 tornado touched down just west of LaGrange. Other EF-0 or EF-1 tornadoes were reported in Kosciusko, Marshall, Wabash and Whitley Counties. Two of the tornadoes had peak wind gusts of 100 miles an hour. One that went through Wabash and Kosciusko Counties was on the ground for seven miles and had an estimated width of 150 yards. Minor to moderate damage was reported to several farmsteads along its path. A hog barn in Kosciusko County was destroyed. A nearby crop field was flattened and shredded.
Steuben County Emergency Management Agency Director Kristy Swanson says straight line winds of up to 80 miles an hour hit Steuben County. She says none of the families who were displaced by the storm needed Red Cross assistance as they had other means of housing.
