Different Angola Parade Route This Year
Thursday Jul 03, 2014 7:13am
Angola, IN

By: Jim Measel

(ANGOLA) - Due to the ongoing Streetscape project on West Maumee, Angola's annual Fourth of July Parade will have a different route for this year only. The parade starts at 11:00am from Dunham Motor Sales on the south side of Angola. It will travel north on South Wayne to Park Avenue where it will turn left and head to the finish at Darling.

Those in the parade are asked to arrive between 9:30am and 10:30am at Dunham Motor Sales to check in. Look for the Chamber's volunteer team of Zone Leaders wearing bright yellow shirts with "Parade Staff" on the back and they will instruct you where to go from there.

The parade route will be barricaded to through traffic. Parade participants are being asked to come in from the south by way of South Wayne Street and from the north by way of East Felicity.

Registered parade participants will be allowed through the barricades up until 10:30am.

Plan to move any cars or vehicles not participating in the parade after you finish unloading.

Free parking is available on the Trine Campus in several lots that are within walking distance of the parade route. The Zone Leaders can help direct you where to go.

If you have selected to participate in the Competitive portion of the Parade, please arrive and be set up no later than 10:00 am for judging.

Indicate to your Zone Leader that you want to participate in the judging. There will be $100 prizes for Most Patriotic, Most Colorful, and Best Themed Float. Winners will be selected prior to the start of the parade and will be given awards to display on their float during the parade.

Participants who are planning to distribute candy or any other giveaways to spectators during the parade are being asked for safety reasons that those items not be thrown into the crowd. Participants can walk beside their vehicles or floats and hand items to spectators.

If you have any questions prior to Friday morning, you may contact Parade Coordinator Bobbi Grill during regular business hours at (260) 417-6306.
