(ALBION) - The Indiana D.N.R. said Thursday afternoon that the Chain O' Lakes State Park beach is under a blue-green algae advisory. Visitors are being asked to don't drink the water and to shower after swimming in it.
You're also asked to keep a close eye on pets or small children, who may have ingested water containing toxins produced by these algae.
The D.N.R. says exposure to blue-green algae during swimming, wading and water-skiing can lead to rashes, skin, eye irritation, and effects such as nausea, stomach aches, and tingling in fingers and toes.
