(UNDATED) – A Sturgis man is back in Michigan where he is facing charges for allegedly stabbing an elderly individual several times.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff' Department says 34 year old Joshua Lee Webster is being held in the County Jail on a $500,000 bond. He is charged with assault with intent to commit murder, armed robbery using a knife and unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle.
Authorities say Webster was arrested in relation to an attack on 83 year old Nelson Leroy Wooster at a residence in Fawn River Township on June 1. Wooster was severely injured and flown to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment of his wounds.
Investigators say Webster fled the scene and was later apprehended in Grundy County, Illinois on a traffic charge.
Webster has been bound over to Circuit Court and is awaiting a trial date. If convicted, he could face a sentence of up to life in prison.
