LAGRANGE – LaGrange County Council heard budget requests for 2015 from three organizations this morning.
LaGrange County 4-H Fair Association again requested $40,000 from the county to support the 4-H program. Association President Mike Patka said the fair that wrapped up on Saturday was a success, with attendance equal to last year.
The LaGrange County Council on Aging is also requesting $40,000 from the county. That covers about 7 percent of the C-O-A's budget. Executive Director Cheri Perkins says the county's support is vital to making the agency eligible for the state grants it receives for the LCAT transportation program.
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Northeast Indiana requested $13,736 for next year. It's allocation comes from the Superior and Circuit Court budgets. Executive Director Kristi Bachman says their funding from the state also depends upon the county's contribution.
In other business, the council appropriated $26,000 from the infraction deferral program for the purchase of new grinder pumps at the county jail.
