Fremont Woman Ordered To Serve 8 Years In Meth Case

(ANGOLA) - One of four persons arrested on methamphetamine related charges at a home near Fremont on March 14th was sentenced on Monday in Steuben Circuit Court.
34-year-old Ashley Hanchar of Fremont was given a 12 year sentence on a Class B felony of Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Four years of the sentence was suspended by Judge Allen Wheat and she was also placed on probation for four years. Five other charges in the case were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for her guilty plea which was entered on June 10th.
The bust took place in the 6300 East block of State Road 120 as the Steuben County Sheriffs Department was serving a search warrant.
The Sheriffs Department stated in a news release at the time of the bust that an alleged active meth lab was found as well as several precursors used to make meth, purported meth and marijuana.
