(ANGOLA) - The latest Angola Mayor's Beautification Award has been presented to Chuck and Kathy Dowe for the landscaping work they have done to their property at 315 West Pleasant Street. It was presented by Angola Mayor Dick Hickman and officials from Cameron Hospital. The Dowes have lived in Angola for the past 34 years and they have resided in their home on Pleasant Street for 20 years. The work on the property includes the removal of old shrubbery and the re-landscaping of an oasis. There are a number of perennials and annuals on the property. An oak tree in the front yard was an Arbor Day brought home by their daughter many years ago. It's estimated by an arborist from the Purdue Extension Office that a very large white oak tree in the back yard is at least 275 years old.
