(AUBURN) - A Waterloo teenager was injured Friday morning when his car crashed head on into an Auburn Power utility pole. The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department says 18-year-old Damian Patrick was heading south on County Road 35 near County Road 38 just outside of Auburn at about 3:50am when he struck a snow mound on the shoulder. His car then went off the road and hit the utility pole. Patrick suffered a broken ankle and complained of chest and head pain. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Sheriffs Department says Patrick told them that he did not wear a seat belt. They were assisted by Auburn and Waterloo Police, Auburn Power and Utilities, DeKalb County EMS, and Jeff's Towing.
