LaGrange County farmers honored at State Fair

INDIANAPOLIS – A pair of LaGrange County farms were honored at the Indiana State Fair.
Jerry Lehman of LaGrange was among 59 River Friendly Farmers honored by the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
Lehman was selected for the award by the local Soil and Water Conservation District based upon management practices which help keep rivers, lakes and streams clean.
Also selected were Greg Newcomer of DeKalb County and Scott Shultz of Steuben County.
F-B-I Farms of Howe received a Hoosier Homestead Award from Lt. Governor Sue Ellsperman. The Burger family has owned the farm over 100 years and received the Centennial Award.
The farm has operated since 1881.
