(ANGOLA) - A National Tour of Mini Coopers turned into a major disappointment on Wednesday in Angola. It was thought that a large number of the Minis would be coming through on U.S. 20 in LaGrange and Steuben Counties as part of a national rally that started in San Francisco on July 26th and ends in Boston this weekend.
While a handful of Minis went through Angola one or two at a time, Mini Cooper owners who had gathered at Angola Middle School said many of those taking part in the rally decided to stay on the Toll Road and bypass U.S. 20.
To accomodate what was expected to be a large number of the Mini Coopers, Angola city officials were planning to temporarily re-open the east bound lanes of West Maumee that had been shut down for the Street Scape project so they would not have to deal with the detours.
