(FABIUS TOWNSHIP) – Only minor injuries were reported following a three vehicle collision just south of Three Rivers.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department was called to the area of U.S. 131 and Broadway Street at 5 PM Tuesday. Deputies say 52 year old Laura Blount of Three Rivers was traveling southbound on U.S. 131 and disobeyed a traffic control device.
Blount hit the passenger side of a second vehicle, driven by 53 year old Christine Maher of Sturgis, which was heading west on Broadway. Maher's vehicle spun around and struck an automobile driven by 47 year old Ken Dorsey of Three Rivers, who was facing east in the left turn lane.
After striking Maher, Blount then struck Dorsey head on.
Dorsey and his passenger, 54 year old Marie Wilson of Three Rivers, were both taken to Three Rivers Health for treatment of minor injuries. Blount and Maher were not injured.
Blount was given a citation for disobeying a traffic control device. Assisting deputies at the scene were the Three Rivers Police Department, the Fabius Township Fire Department and Three Rivers Ambulance.
