(WATERLOO) - Two Indianapolis men were injured Sunday afternoon when their rental truck rolled over on northbound I-69 at the 333 mile marker near Waterloo as they were moving residential items for a friend.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department reports the driver, 30-year-old Jeffery A. Bair, told police that he “blacked out” or “had a seizure” when he ran off the east side of the road where the truck then rolled and then came to a stop spilling its cargo onto the ground.
A passenger inside the truck, 23-year-old Dustin Wayne Davis, was ejected from the passenger side as he was sleeping inside the cab.
Both men received cuts and scrapes over their bodies and were assisted initially by person’s passing by until emergency crews arrived.
Both men were transported from the scene by DeKalb E.M.S. to Parkview Regional Medical Center where they received further treatment.
The Sheriff's Department got assistance from the Indiana State Police, Waterloo firefighters, DeKalb County E.M.S. and Parker’s Wrecker Service.
