(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Rape Aggression Defense class at Trine University's Zollner Golf Course this month. Classes will be held this Thursday as well as on September 18th and 25th from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. There is a $20 deposit which is returned the third night of class.
Sheriff Tim Troyer says this is not a martial arts program. R.A.D is a practical self-defense course which teaches risk avoidance and escape techniques. The instructors are Sgt. Adam Miller, Deputy Brad Kline and Officer Darin Taylor.
The course includes a brief lecture and two nights of practicing techniques. There is a simulation on the final night.
Women of any age may attend and can bring their daughters 12 and older to attend with them. There are no physical limitations to participate in the course.
To register, call the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office at 668-1000, extension 5000.
