(WATERLOO) - Two Wabash residents escaped with lacerations on Saturday afternoon in a two vehicle accident on southbound I-69 near Waterloo.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department says a 2000 Chrysler Sebring driven by 32-year-old Victoria Ramirez swerved to the left at about 2:25pm and went into the berm. Police say Ramirez then over corrected, went to the right and collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 36-year-old Jessalyn Hageman of Bryan, Ohio.
The Ramirez vehicle went into a ditch and rolled onto its top. Ramirez and a passenger, 31-year-old Alyssa Sapienza were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Hageman was not injured.
The investigation into the accident is continuing. The Sheriffs Department got assistance from Indiana State Police, Waterloo firefighters and DeKalb County E.M.S..
