(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Commissioners gave E.M.S. Director Vicky Meek permission on Tuesday to buy a new ambulance for her department. She said it would be the last new ambulance that could be purchased through a three year bond. Meek said ambulances will have to be remounted for the next five years.
In other business, the Commissioners approved five percent increases for tenant rentals at the Steuben County Community Center except for the Attorney General, the M.S.D. of Steuben County and the Steuben County Cancer Association.
The Commissioners also decided to keep polling places for this past May's Primary the same for the November general election.
It was also decided that Commissioner Jim Crowl will meet with Steve Mumby of the Steuben County Humane Society concerning the status of the Humane Society's lease which is good until 2015. Commissioners were asked last October to consider a long term extension of the lease agreement. Mumby told Commissioners last year that the current building on 200 West is in need of major repairs and was past its prime. He was hoping a new building can be built at the current site because of its easy access.
