(CENTREVILLE) – An annual grant has been approved and accepted by St. Joseph County.
During Tuesday's meeting, the St. Joseph County Commission was presented with the Fiscal Year 2014 Emergency Management Grant Agreement, which is between the County, the Michigan Department of State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
It provides federal EMPG funds to the State, which are then given to the County, for the development and maintenance of an emergency management program capable of protecting life, property and vital infrastructure in times of disaster or emergency.
The grant, which is for $24,759, goes towards the salary of County Emergency Services Director Scott Hopkins.
