(WATERLOO) - A Garrett woman was injured Wednesday afternoon when her car and a dump truck collided on U.S. 6 near Waterloo. The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department says 43-year-old Jamie Swartz was heading east at about 2:30pm when she lost control of her vehicle and went into the opposite lane of traffic where it was T-boned on the passenger side by the dump truck driven by 65-year-old Dwight Myers of Ashley. Swartz was pinned in her car and had to be freed by rescue crews. She was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment of lacerations and pain to the her neck, back and legs. Myers was not injured. The car driven by Swartz was a total loss while damage to the dump truck was estimated at between $5,000 and $10,000. The Sheriffs Department got assistance from the Waterloo Marshal's Office, Waterloo firefighters, DeKalb E.M.S. and INDOT.
