(ANGOLA) - A Kendallville man is facing three Class D felony charges after he allegedly attacked a nurse in the Cameron Hospital Emergency Room on Thursday. 40-year-old Shane A. Hays is facing two battery charges as well as an intimidation charge following an investigation by Angola Police. According to Steuben County court documents, Hays allegedly bit, head butted and spit on a nurse. He is also accused of threatening to kill her and her family. Court documents did not state why Hays was in the hospital in the first place. Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf during an initial hearing on Friday. Bond was set at $10,000 with ten percent allowed. A no contact order was issued if Hays should post bond. The case will go through Steuben Circuit Court where a pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 14th.
